On one side the screen writing, on the other, the printed page it is within this relationship of the page torn between screen and paper that the multiple practices of contemporary scriptural activity are composed. The screen writing is structured round three technical components: the computer memory, the screen itself and the printed page.
The novel dissemination and dispatching mode we wish to set up could be entitled the printer edition©. The computer and printer are henceforth tools accesible to the majority; we are convinced that individual printing systems will develop more and more in the present era of extensive democratization of data processing equipment. Our graphic approach in this area mainly consists in maximizing the use of the potential of standard personnal printers, whether laser or ink-jet, using standard paper formats.
Moreover, if we short-circuit the traditional economic operators, like editors, printers, booksellers or mail-order firms, we are able to develop a more direct link with the information receiver, untroubled by the usual industrial and institutional constraints. We thus take on a role of editor and independent designer, with all requirements as to the presentation of the graphic & typographic quality of the product wich this implies.
